About the Role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking individuals to join their team in Rochester, NY, contributing to the production of essential lab plastics and Nalgene® products. This role is part of the Laboratory Products Division, supporting various scientific sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, assemble, and pack products under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor.
  • Become familiar with product lines and identify visual defects to reject non-conforming parts.
  • Visually inspect bottles and make quality decisions.
  • Recognize and report out-of-spec production to supervisors.
  • Perform 15-minute inspections of high-volume production.
  • Set up work areas as controlled environments, adhering to specific attire requirements.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean production environment.
  • Maintain necessary paperwork, including 15-minute inspection forms and MQC sheets.
  • Work to established QC samples.
  • Alert Supervisors/Team Leads or Set-up personnel to emerging problems.
  • Adhere to all company and departmental work and safety rules.
  • Operate any assigned machine or perform any assigned operation within the department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field preferred.
  • 0-1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to perform simple math such as add and subtract whole numbers.
  • Must have excellent hand/eye coordination skills.
  • Ability to lift and load pallets with weights up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a high-speed, repetitive production environment.
  • Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.
