About the Role
BDO’s Strategy & Transformation team addresses complex strategic and operational challenges, helping organisations define direction, improve performance, and deliver meaningful transformation. You will lead the development of practical, evidence-based solutions and support clients from strategy and planning through to implementation. This role is for a Manager or Senior Manager to join our Sydney-based team, working across diverse government and private sector clients, leading complex engagements, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, and delivering improved strategic and operational outcomes. You will play an important role in leading people and engagements, developing the capability of the Strategy & Transformation team, and contributing to the practice’s growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of complex Strategy & Transformation engagements, with accountability for quality, client outcomes and deliverables.
- Structure complex and ambiguous client challenges, providing strategic direction and overseeing the development of practical solutions.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, providing advice and identifying opportunities to deliver additional value.
- Lead executive workshops and multidisciplinary teams, bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise to achieve client outcomes.
- Oversee the development of high-quality strategies, business cases, operating models, recommendations and transformation roadmaps.
- Lead the scoping of client opportunities and development of proposals, tenders and other business development activities.
- Coach and develop team members while contributing to the growth of the practice through thought leadership, market insights and development of our methodologies and offerings.
Requirements
- Experienced consulting professional who is naturally inquisitive about how organisations operate and how they can improve.
- Combine strong strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to lead teams, navigate ambiguity and build credibility with senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable taking ownership of complex engagements while developing others and contributing to the growth of the practice.
- Significant consulting or professional services experience across strategy, transformation, operating model, performance improvement or related engagements.
- Proven experience leading complex consulting engagements from scoping and planning through to delivery and implementation.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to structure ambiguity, develop insights and provide clear strategic direction.
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience developing client opportunities, propositions and proposals.
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to engage, influence and advise senior leaders.
- Demonstrated people leadership skills, with the ability to lead and develop teams while managing multiple engagements and competing priorities.
