About the Role

Develop and optimize CNC milling programs and machining processes for complex aerospace components. Support production troubleshooting, tooling improvements, manufacturability reviews, and process optimization activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CNC mill machining processes for new and existing aerospace components
  • Create detailed CNC programs and manufacturing instructions
  • Define operation sequences, tooling requirements, gauging requirements, and machine setup requirements
  • Generate machine-ready NC code and support prove-outs on the shop floor
  • Support machining operations for high-precision milled parts and sub-assemblies
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues, gauging issues, workholding challenges, and inspection concerns
  • Assist with machine setup and production support
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve producibility
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Review engineering drawings for manufacturability
  • Recommend design and process improvements
  • Estimate setup/run times, tooling hours, and manufacturing costs
  • Support cost estimation activities for new business opportunities
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers, CNC Machinists, Quality Teams, and Production Teams
  • Mentor junior engineers and team members
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and process optimization initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical field with 3+ years of experience OR Associate Degree with 6+ years of experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of related experience
  • Strong CNC Mill Machining experience
  • Experience with multi-axis vertical machining centers
  • Experience with horizontal machining centers
  • Minimum 3+ years of CNC programming experience using CAD/CAM software
  • Hands-on machine setup and machining experience
  • Strong understanding of precision machining processes
  • Ability to support production troubleshooting and prove-outs
