About the Role
We are seeking a Social Media & Community Manager to lead social and community management for a well-known Australian lifestyle beverage brand. This role requires a deep understanding of the Australian tone: warm, witty, familiar, relaxed, social-first, and never forced. The position involves social publishing, community management, social listening, content calendar management, campaign support, copywriting, creative localisation, CRM/email support, and monthly reporting. While the brand has existing creative support, this role needs strong tone, judgment, and brand instinct for daily community responses.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day community engagement across owned social channels.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and community interactions in the brand’s tone of voice.
- Moderate conversations and escalate customer, brand, or reputation issues.
- Conduct social listening, sentiment monitoring, and identify opportunities across communities.
- Manage the editorial calendar, social publishing workflow, and platform scheduling.
- Write engaging social copy across platforms, including paid social copy.
- Localise and project-manage creative assets by coordinating approvals and ensuring timely content delivery.
- Maintain channel hygiene, including profile updates, links, and platform settings.
- Identify emerging social, cultural, platform, and consumer trends.
- Generate always-on content ideas, reactive content opportunities, and social-first concepts.
- Support campaign, influencer, CRM, EDM/newsletter, and activation moments.
- Provide monthly social reporting, recommendations, and performance optimisation.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years’ experience in social media and community management, digital marketing, content, or brand communications.
- Experience managing branded social channels for consumer, FMCG, beverage, lifestyle, or culture-led brands.
- Excellent English copywriting skills.
- Understanding of Australian social tone, humour, restraint, timing, and cultural cues.
- Confident managing communities, conversations, comments, and escalations without regular approvals.
- Ability to work with an in-house creative studio without relying on them for every caption or comment.
- Understanding of Facebook, Instagram, Reels, Stories, and evolving social platforms.
- Ability to manage content calendars, approvals, publishing workflows, and reporting independently.
- Experience with influencer campaigns, paid social, EDM/email marketing, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or social listening tools is a strong advantage.
- Must be eligible to legally work in the country where hiring.
