About the Role
Security Level 5 is an AI security nonprofit dedicated to defending frontier models against nation-state threats. This role involves designing and building a datacenter to the SL5 standard, the highest level for AI security. The mission is to create a secure environment for AI development while maintaining researcher productivity and affordability.
Responsibilities
- Building AI Security Fieldbuilding programs to increase awareness and action on SL5 and AI Security topics.
- Coordinating and running custom workshops, panel discussions, and conferences.
- Building an SL5 fellowship program to transition senior security experts into AI Security roles.
- Training high-potential generalist engineers to become AI Security specialists.
- Hosting quarterly SL5 Happy Hours and expanding the invite list.
- Developing a community engagement strategy to make SL5 offices a thriving community hub.
- Owning content, branding, invites, and network building for the fellowship, conferences, and community events.
Requirements
- A Bachelors or Equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math or another SL5-related field.
- High agency, able to spot emergent project needs and grow to fill them.
- Experience running competitive fellowship programs with multiple iterations and 10+ fellows per cohort.
- Proven success in recruiting individuals capable of securing offers at AI Labs for security roles.
- High operational skill in running complex programs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to navigate community health topics with professionalism and nuance.
- Enjoyment of proactive outreach and interaction with diverse individuals.
- Ability to make people feel welcome, included, and engaged at events.

- Security Level 5 is a Bay Area AI security nonprofit working with AI labs and US intelligence agencies to defend frontier models from priority nation-state-level threats.
- We are designing and building the first datacenter purpose-built to Security Level 5, the standard for defending frontier AI labs against attackers with the resources of a nation-state and billion-dollar budgets.
- We wrote the first version of the standard with input from CISOs and senior security staff at the frontier labs, and US security and intelligence officials.
