About the Role
As a leader in the Housekeeping Department, you will be responsible for assisting with managing the housekeeping and laundry facilities of the hotel in a safe and cost-effective manner to achieve maximum guest satisfaction and protect hotel assets. Responsibilities
- Cleans rooms a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Ensures guest satisfaction by supervising the daily cleaning of the hotel and grounds according to operational policies and standards.
- Schedules associates in accordance with forecasted occupancy and adjusts staffing as necessary for sudden changes in occupancy.
- Plans, assigns, and supervises the daily activities of the housekeeping and laundry staff.
- Assumes the role of a housekeeper, laundry person, or house person as needed.
- Conducts continual inspections to determine the hotel’s overall level of cleanliness and condition, performing follow-up.
- Schedules and supervises all rotational and special cleaning programs as needed.
- Ensures the team has the necessary tools and equipment to carry out the job.
- Works in conjunction with maintenance, including generating work orders and preventative maintenance.
- Manages lost and found.
- Coordinates room availability with front-of-house management.
- Maintains accurate and current records, logs, parts lists, manuals, and reference books.
- Monitors customer comment card responses, identifies problem areas, and formulates solutions.
- Maintains proper inventory levels, managing cost per room for supplies and labor, and performs a monthly inventory.
Requirements
- Keeps the immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company associates to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
- Utilizes Management Company resources effectively by communicating on a regular basis.
- Requires strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate to guests and team members verbally or in written form.
- Ability to work and interact with associates on every level.
- Ability to direct and oversee multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills required.
- Projects a favorable image of the Hotel to the public at all times.
- Must have open availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to bend, lift, kneel, and be in motion for the full day.
- Must be able to move continuously during work hours and able to lift and/or carry 50 pounds.
