About the Role
We are seeking a Product Specialist for a 6-month fixed-term contract to lead end-to-end product development and lifecycle management. This role involves PDS drafting, benefit and rule design, market analysis, and partner onboarding, collaborating with various departments to deliver customer-focused, compliant, and commercially effective products.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and maintain product documentation including PDSs, schedules, endorsements, FAQs, summaries, and training materials.
- Ensure artefacts are consistent with pricing intent, underwriting rules, and internal governance standards, managing version control and approvals.
- Translate portfolio, pricing, and claims insights into changes to benefits, eligibility, sub-limits, and exclusions.
- Balance customer outcomes, operational practicality, and commercial objectives when recommending design adjustments.
- Conduct regular market and competitor scans, maintaining position maps and recommendations.
- Feed evidence-based insights into the product roadmap and proposals for enhancements or simplification.
- Lead product impact assessments across Pricing, Claims, Operations, Technology, Distribution, Legal, and Compliance.
- Support UAT scope and test case design, coordinating business sign-off for intended functionality at go-live.
- Prepare partner-ready product packs for tenders, new launches, and enhancements.
- Support onboarding and change delivery for partners to agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Contribute to TMD inputs with the governance team.
- Ensure product changes align with DDO and internal control expectations, maintaining audit-ready traceability.
- Track product KPIs such as document accuracy, change cycle time, and partner feedback.
- Capture lessons learned after releases and incidents to update templates, checklists, and guidance.
- Collaborate closely with Pricing, Claims, Commercial, Operations, Technology, and Legal and Compliance.
- Communicate clearly, keeping stakeholders informed on scope, timelines, risks, and required decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in general insurance (travel advantageous) in product development/management.
- Demonstrated capability in PDS drafting, product rule design, and benefit configuration with strong attention to detail.
- Proven stakeholder agility across Legal/Compliance, Pricing, Operations, Claims, Commercial, Partners, and Insurers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
