About the Role

This is a full-stack storytelling role where you will take a story from concept to completion across various formats including writing, design, and film. You will work closely with the Creative Director to ensure clarity, meaning, and heart in all content.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Blackbird’s storytelling strategy across digital, written, visual, and experiential formats.
  • Craft and evolve our narrative spine that holds all of our programs and activities together.
  • Find stories by engaging with founders, programs, the Foundation, and the team.
  • Produce stories through writing, design, editing, shooting, and posting.
  • Manage owned channels including social media, email, and website content.
  • Experiment with multimodal storytelling and experimental mediums.
  • Promote programs and events through various channels.
  • Work like a builder, shipping steadily, running experiments, and learning as you go.

Requirements

  • Build community and be passionate about Founders, startups and the journey from zero to one and beyond.
  • Spend real time with founders and the people around them, earning trust to access valuable information.
  • Have a strong sense for what will resonate and identify great stories.
  • Produce content independently, including writing, design, shooting, and editing.
  • Be genuinely creative with good taste and a designer's eye.
  • Protect the Blackbird brand in language and design.
  • Hold conviction in taste, take feedback seriously, but maintain what is right.
  • Love people and gain energy from being around creative individuals.
  • Have strong craft in at least a couple of formats and good taste across all.
  • Be able to make things independently and be design-fluent.
  • Be fast-moving, happy to experiment, and able to extract the real story from conversations.
