About the Role
Tapestry is seeking a Sr. Microsoft 365 Platform Engineer to strengthen and scale our Microsoft 365 support and engineering capabilities. This role will serve as a technical leader within the M365 ecosystem, providing expert-level support, driving governance and security best practices, and partnering closely with business stakeholders to enable productivity and collaboration across the organization. The Sr. Microsoft 365 Platform Engineer will play a critical role in shaping the M365 roadmap, ensuring platform stability, improving adoption, and delivering a high-quality support experience. This position is key to maintaining continuity, advancing our data governance posture, and evolving our support model to meet growing business needs.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical authority for the Microsoft 365 platform, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Purview, and Power Platform.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable M365 solutions aligned with security, compliance, and governance standards.
- Lead complex troubleshooting efforts and provide Tier 3/4 escalation support for M365-related issues.
- Proactively identify platform risks, performance issues, and opportunities for optimization.
- Define and enforce M365 governance models, including data lifecycle management, retention policies, sensitivity labels, and access controls.
- Partner with Security, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Improve and maintain the organization’s data governance and information protection posture using Microsoft Purview and related tools.
- Contribute to and help execute the long-term M365 roadmap, aligning platform capabilities with business objectives.
- Evaluate new Microsoft features and services, making recommendations for adoption and rollout.
- Drive standardization and best practices across collaboration, identity, and endpoint management.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business users and IT stakeholders, providing clear guidance and solution-oriented recommendations.
- Deliver responsive, high-quality support while balancing operational needs with strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with Service Desk and other IT teams to improve support processes, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, administrators, and support staff.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and runbooks.
- Support training and enablement efforts to increase adoption and effective use of M365 services.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in IT, with 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft 365 engineering experience.
- Deep expertise across core M365 workloads (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Intune).
- Strong understanding of identity, authentication, conditional access, and modern endpoint management.
- Proven experience designing and implementing governance, compliance, and security controls in M365.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence platform strategy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
