About the Role

The Specialist Psychologist will provide indirect psychological assessments of Registerable Persons on the Child Protection Register (CPR) within the NSW Police Force. This role involves providing evidence-based assessment and psychological advice to assist in the police management of offenders, contributing to training programs, and participating in sex offender specific research. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a team environment, conduct consultations, deliver training, and perform risk assessments using various tools.

Responsibilities

Providing indirect psychological assessments of Registerable Persons on the Child Protection Register (CPR).
Providing evidence-based assessment and psychological advice to assist in the police management of offenders on the Child Protection Register.
Working within the Child Protection Registry comprising of police and administration staff.
Assisting in the development and provision of training programs for police specific to assessing and managing offenders on the CPR.
Participating in sex offender specific research as required.
Consulting with child protection register officers across NSW.
Delivering training presentations.
Undertaking risk assessments on child sex offenders using tools such as Static-99R, CPORT and HCR-20.

Requirements

Must be an Australian Citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen.
Successful candidate will be required to undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check.
Successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the NSW Police Force.
