About the Role
Join the new Safety Ambassador team at RBC Amphitheatre where our staff are our crew members and have the unique opportunity to create an exceptional fan experience. Provide exceptional front-line customer service, possess a positive "can-do" attitude, and be willing to go above and beyond for both fans and fellow crew members, rain or shine.
Responsibilities
- Assist with keeping the venue safe, clean, and presentable to guests.
- Identify guests in distress or experiencing a medical issue and liaise with medical staff.
- Proactively approach escalating situations to deescalate in a calm manner.
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations of venue policies to preserve safety and order.
- Provide assistance to guests with special needs, including seat accommodations or those experiencing a mental health episode.
- Guide guests to exits or provide other instructions in case of emergency.
- May assist in verifying staff credentials and examining tickets or VIP passes.
- Assist patrons by giving directions to places inside or outside the venue.
- Perform lock-down of areas and access control duties for guest and artist safety.
- Help create a protective space for fans that encourages reporting of incidents.
- May write reports of daily activities and irregularities.
- Participate in the venue’s sustainability program, including sorting waste, collecting recycling, and educating fans.
- Participate in Live Nation Canada zero waste/sustainability initiatives at the venue.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in mental health, community services, and/or health and safety fields strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
- Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, and occasional sitting.
- Able to work outdoors (rain or shine), among crowds, and in a loud environment.
- A passion for live events!
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Available for a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overnight.
