About the Role
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per-diem Speech Pathologist 2.
Responsibilities
- Perform swallowing evaluations.
- Conduct modified barium swallow (MBS) studies for patients of all ages.
- Determine appropriate diet recommendations.
- Coordinate with dietary, nursing, and medical staff in managing diet textures, consistencies, and restrictions.
- Educate residents, nurses, physicians, patients, and families regarding alternative nutrition methods.
- Document results of assessments, evaluations, and studies.
