About the Role

PitchBook's Sales Engineer provides technical support to Sales and Customer Success teams, as well as clients, for API and data feed solutions. This role involves navigating technical aspects of these products and communicating them effectively to clients and prospects, while also offering ongoing technical support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre- and post-sales technical expertise and ongoing consultation to clients and prospects regarding data feed and API solutions.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams to implement technical solutions for clients and prospects.
  • Coordinate with Product, Technology, and IT teams to explain PitchBook Platform features, functionality, processes, and technologies.
  • Partner with remote development teams to build client solutions for data feed and API products.
  • Manage a queue of client or prospect requests for technical solutions and specifications.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to share customer feedback and suggestions.
  • Support company vision and values by role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in sales/solutions engineering, customer success, or technical sales.
  • Experience in at least two of the following: financial markets industry knowledge, strong technical skills, or sales/customer success expertise.
  • Experience enabling effective collaboration with large-scale enterprise clients, including major investment banks, Big 4 consulting firms, or Fortune 500 companies.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and familiarity with the sales pipeline.
  • Ability to help drive sales processes and track engagement.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and systems.
  • Strong desire and ability to learn more about the private equity, venture capital, private credit, and M&A marketplaces.
  • Understand how diverse client types engage with PitchBook's product and data.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Annual on target variable commission of fully ramped representative meeting expectations: $30,500
