About the Role

You will be responsible for the entire development cycle of your projects, from conception to deployment. You will participate in concept acceptance and decide on releases, including architecture, completeness, risks, test strategy, and effort. You will analyze complex business requirements and develop technical solutions, also advising when a requested solution is not the right one. You will develop code in real projects and be responsible for the deployment chain, including CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and automation. You will share responsibility for the overall project success, proactively identifying and communicating missing information or issues. You will lead development efforts when required by the portfolio and shape how AI is used in development, orchestrating multiple projects and ensuring quality through manual testing. You will elevate the team's AI proficiency through mentoring, code reviews, pairing, and tech talks.

Responsibilities

Oversee the entire development cycle from conception to deployment.

Make sound architectural decisions with a future-oriented perspective, avoiding over-engineering.
Analyze complex business requirements and develop technical solutions.
Develop code in real projects.
Manage the deployment chain, including CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and automation.
Share responsibility for overall project success and proactively communicate issues.
Take on development project leadership when the portfolio requires it.
Shape AI integration in development workflows, orchestrating projects and ensuring quality.
Enhance team AI proficiency through mentoring, code reviews, pairing, and tech talks.
Act as the technical point of contact for clients, communicating clearly.

Requirements

Minimum of four years of experience in software development.
Think in terms of architecture, not just tickets, and make future-proof decisions without over-engineering.
Designed systems that have operated and evolved for years, understanding which decisions were successful and which were not.
Made technical decisions for which no one else would take responsibility.
Ability to evaluate, approve, or reject a foreign concept and justify the rejection effectively.
Willingness to lead development in projects.
Built CI/CD pipelines, understanding deployment as an integral part of development.
Work independently, identifying and initiating tasks without needing a task list.
Meet commitments and communicate potential delays proactively.
Possess a personal quality standard that exceeds ticket requirements.
Take ownership of results, even when things go wrong.
Explain technical decisions to clients in an understandable and supportive manner, maintaining your position when challenged.
Develop colleagues because you want them to improve, not just because it's part of the role.
Openness to AI and AI-assisted development tools, primarily Claude.
Generate, own, and ensure quality with AI tools without falling into control paralysis.
Take responsibility for AI-generated code, regardless of the author.
Identify when AI is helpful and when it leads in the wrong direction.
