About the Role
Norm Law is an AI-native law firm affiliated with Norm Ai, designed to deliver legal work with greater speed, certainty, and transparency. This role will shape the software behind this model, focusing on matter management, automation, and attorney-AI collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Design matter management and task-tracking workflows for attorneys, partners, and legal operators.
- Engage with Norm Law users to understand matter progression, workflow bottlenecks, and visibility needs.
- Define automation, assistance, and attorney control boundaries within legal workflows.
- Rapidly prototype using AI-assisted tools like Cursor and Claude Design to accelerate learning.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams from problem definition to product launch.
- Contribute to the evolution of the design system and product patterns to ensure software coherence.
Requirements
- 6+ years of product design experience shipping real products with strong interaction, visual, and systems craft.
- Proven ability to understand user needs from complex contexts and translate them into simple product decisions.
- Strong judgment in determining when to implement structure, reduce friction, and maintain human control.
- A build-first mindset, prioritizing rapid prototyping and early testing over abstract debate.
- Intentional use of AI in personal workflow to enhance speed and thinking.
- Experience designing legal, healthcare, finance, or other expert professional workflows.
- Experience with project management, CRM, case management, or systems-of-record products.
- Comfort with Git, code, or version-controlled prototyping workflows.
- Experience contributing to or scaling a design system.
- Has pushed a PR or made a meaningful code contribution outside of a prototyping context.
