About the Role
We are seeking a Bilingual Learning and Instructional Design Practice Lead with expertise in learning science, instructional design, and educational technologies to enhance and structure learning and development practices within Claims. This experienced professional will shape a modern, innovative learning practice by translating the L&D vision into clear reference points, methods, and standards, leveraging pedagogical approaches, educational technologies, and AI. The role involves acting as a subject-matter reference, guiding pedagogical decisions, and transforming business needs into effective learning solutions.
Responsibilities
- Recommend, document, and contribute to the evolution of best practices in learning, instructional design, quality assurance, and educational technologies.
- Translate the L&D vision into actionable ways of working, common reference points, tools, and standards for the team.
- Coach and guide instructional designers on pedagogical thinking, strategy, deliverable improvements, and skill development.
- Contribute to implementing quality assurance practices for consistency, relevance, and effectiveness of learning solutions.
- Explore, recommend, and integrate innovative approaches, including AI, to enhance learning design, collaboration, and support.
- Analyze learning needs and operational challenges to inform pedagogical approaches.
- Provide targeted expertise in the design, review, or improvement of learning solutions requiring subject-matter expertise.
- Collaborate with partners, subject-matter experts, and operational teams to ensure aligned, sustainable, and applicable solutions.
Requirements
- University degree in educational technology, instructional design, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a complex, operational, or transformation-focused environment.
- Strong expertise in learning, instructional design, quality assurance, and educational technologies.
- Experience contributing to the structuring or evolution of practices, ways of working, standards, or quality frameworks in an L&D environment.
- Strong working knowledge of design, collaboration, and innovation tools such as Microsoft 365, Articulate 360, LMS, AI tools, or similar technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a team reference point, influence practices, and guide skill development.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is required for regular interaction with colleagues across Canada.
