About the Role
Oversee all fire and life safety operations within a residential property in Manhattan, ensuring full compliance with FDNY regulations, internal emergency procedures, and building safety protocols. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, composed under pressure, and capable of leading emergency response efforts while maintaining a professional presence.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the designated Fire Life & Safety Director, ensuring compliance with all FDNY codes and regulations
- Respond immediately to fire alarms, emergencies, and life safety incidents, coordinating response efforts as required
- Monitor and operate fire life safety systems, access control, CCTV, and alarm systems
- Conduct inspections of post areas, safety equipment, and security systems to ensure operational readiness
- Review daily memos, alerts, and security notifications to remain informed of building conditions
- Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and incident documentation
- Communicate clearly with the Operations Desk, property management, and leadership regarding incidents or deficiencies
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, alertness, and situational awareness at all times
Requirements
- Valid NYS Fire Life & Safety Director Certification (F-89 or equivalent) – Required
- Valid NYS Security Guard License – Required
- Minimum 1 year of fire life safety or building security experience
- Strong emergency response, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
- Availability to work Monday through Friday | 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM
