About the Role
The Equipment Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC machinery and equipment under the direct supervision of the Equipment/Facilities Maintenance Group Leader.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install machinery and equipment, including wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, and programming to meet specifications.
- Study blueprints and manufacturers’ manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery and equipment.
- Prepare requisitions for necessary parts and materials and record those used.
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, and operator information to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
- Repair or replace defective parts and reassemble machinery and equipment.
- Observe and test machinery and equipment operation to diagnose malfunctions using voltmeters and other testing devices.
- Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and perform repairs.
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts.
- Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify repair adequacy.
- Reassemble machinery and equipment after inspections, testing, and repairs.
- Record and maintain records of repairs and maintenance performed.
Requirements
- Holds oneself accountable for meeting project outcome commitments.
- Ability to work well under pressure, adhere to deadlines, and be flexible.
- Thorough operational knowledge and skills of specific equipment, including inspection equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, including hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Ability to perform skilled work in a variety of building trades.
- Must be able to interpret and work from sketches, blueprints, or drawings.
- Must be knowledgeable of occupational hazards and OSHA regulations in the machining industry.
- Experience in operating a forklift, crane, and overhead hoist.
- This position is restricted to US Citizens, Permanent Residents, or Green Card Holders.
