About the Role

ABRAMS, a leading publisher specializing in art and illustrated books, seeks a Sales Intern for its Fall Internship Program. This unpaid internship, offered for academic credit only, provides hands-on experience in book publishing, allowing interns to contribute to real projects, develop practical skills, and gain insight into the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Draft pitches to sales accounts
  • Prepare for sales conferences and trade shows
  • Consolidate title metadata
  • Manage digital book assets in WoodWing
  • Review contracts
  • Collect title materials and organize account presentations
  • Research and execute mailing lists for prospective accounts
  • Place sample orders, track POs, run inventory reports, and reserve stock
  • Utilize publishing industry tools and systems including Bookscan (Circana), Edelweiss, TMM, BI, Sharepoint, Powerpoint, and Excel
  • Learn and network with ABRAMS employees, publishing professionals, and fellow interns
  • Gain hands-on exposure to the publishing industry
  • Support research, project work, and day-to-day tasks
  • Contribute ideas and provide creative input on department projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Participate in workshops and discussions
  • Receive coaching, mentorship, and feedback from experienced ABRAMS professionals

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited academic institution
  • This internship is not open to recent graduates
