About the Role
Discreet household seeking an experienced, warm, and highly organized live-in Nanny / Family Assistant to support a preschooler in Westchester, NY. The role provides consistent weekday stability, proactive household support, and thoughtful travel flexibility within a structured, respectful working environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage morning routine, dressing, breakfast preparation, and daycare logistics.
- Provide afternoon care, age-appropriate engagement, and structured play.
- Prepare child meals and support bath/bedtime routines.
- Offer sick-day and daycare closure coverage.
- Perform occasional sole-charge overnight care during short domestic travel.
- Engage warmly and playfully with children, showing interest in child development and a calm approach to boundaries.
- Plan, shop for, and prepare three healthy meals per day, five days a week for the family, with some weekend preparation.
- Proactively identify and manage household tasks without needing a list.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, with prior experience traveling professionally with a family preferred.
- Understand the boundaries and independence required for a live-in arrangement.
- Communicate openly, be receptive to feedback, and adapt as needed.
- Maintain discretion and professional boundaries.
- Perform weekly grocery shopping and light household provisioning.
- Assist with light family meal preparation.
- Handle child laundry and light household laundry.
- Organize children's clothing, toys, and supplies.
- Manage pantry and essential household items.
- Handle returns, light errands, and support travel preparation.
- Travel domestically and internationally with the family.
- Maintain a valid passport and comfort with travel flexibility.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of professional childcare experience.
- Strong toddler experience with excellent references.
- Live-in experience.
- Warm, emotionally attuned, and developmentally knowledgeable.
- Highly organized and proactive in household systems.
- Comfortable with occasional sole-charge overnights.
- Travel-ready and adaptable.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Interest in a stable, long-term placement.
