About the Role

We are seeking a warm, proactive, and reliable Household Manager and Family Assistant to support our busy family of four in Austin, TX. This role is crucial in helping us maintain structure, manage daily routines, and create protected family time, particularly during the important 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM window. The ideal candidate will become a trusted partner, bringing initiative and ownership to ensure our household runs smoothly.

Responsibilities

Perform Monday and Tuesday afternoon school pickups and transport to extracurricular activities.
Conduct occasional Wednesday and Thursday school pickups.
Provide after-school supervision, including homework support and managing the afternoon transition.
Involve daughters in age-appropriate tidying and chores.
Offer occasional date night sitting.
Provide flexibility for rare family travel or special school events.
Perform kitchen reset, including tidying, unloading the dishwasher, wiping surfaces, and prepping before cleaning crew.
Conduct daily tidying of surfaces, cluttered spots, and high-traffic vacuuming.
Manage seasonal decor swaps.
Coordinate and drop off donations.
Care for indoor plants.
Perform routine maintenance tasks like replacing light bulbs, batteries, and smoke detectors.
Oversee and coordinate with contractors at the main home.
Support household calendar management, transitioning to a digital system.
Coordinate events and appointments, such as birthday parties and school events.
Handle full household laundry, including washing, folding, organizing, and assisting girls with putting away their laundry.
Perform weekly washing of bed linens and towels.
Provide occasional ironing and steaming as needed.
Keep the laundry area tidy and well-stocked.
Prepare 2-3 family-friendly meals per week (Monday-Thursday).
Handle kitchen cleanup following meal prep.
Supplement grocery runs mid-week as needed.
Adhere to all dietary needs and restrictions, noting a nut allergy.
Prep healthy snacks when time allows.
Organize pantry and fridge, rotating items and checking expiration dates.
Restock household and pantry supplies.
Handle family errands such as dry cleaning, returns, and gift shopping.
Manage mail and packages, including unboxing, putting away, and breaking down boxes.
Provide occasional pet feeding.
Wipe pet after outdoor bathroom trips.
Assist with managing the yard and outdoor spaces, including toy pickup with the girls.
Perform occasional ad hoc deep cleans.
Collaborate with girls on organizational projects for toys, gear, and craft tables.
Water outdoor garden beds and plants.
Oversee seasonal property maintenance and outdoor space upkeep.

Requirements

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Able to maintain a smoke-free environment.
Reliable personal transportation and valid driver's license required.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
Seasoned, steady under pressure, and brings genuine reliability, maturity, and ownership.
