About the Role
SkyWater is seeking a UPW Technician to operate and maintain an Ultra-Pure Water System in a semiconductor factory. This role involves routine operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UPW and IWN equipment and systems, contributing to the manufacturing of essential semiconductors.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and Industrial Wastewater (IWN) systems.
- Perform routine operations tasks for UPW/IWN equipment and systems using computer interface.
- Conduct maintenance activities on UPW and IWN equipment, test equipment, and filters.
- Load/unload UPW resin and RO membranes.
- Perform installation and commissioning of UPW and IWN equipment.
- Support operation and maintenance of UPW and IWN process systems.
- Interface with operations personnel, facilities engineers, and other technicians.
- Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment, valves, instruments, and controls.
- Participate as a member of the RODI operations team.
- Write work plans for scheduled maintenance.
- Navigate SkyWater Facilities Operation systems.
- Understand system installation from a process implementation standpoint.
- Troubleshoot field devices and process equipment to identify out-of-spec conditions.
- Assist in root cause analysis and system recovery.
Requirements
- High School or GED required.
- 5+ years of work experience in a water plant setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform bending and/or crouching.
- Ability to navigate stairs.
Skills
- System operation and maintenance for Ultra-Pure Water Systems.
- Knowledge of UPW process.
- Facilities expertise in operation, maintenance, start up, and commissioning.
- Excellent team player skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills (mechanical, valves, instruments, controls).
- Technical writing skills.
- Understanding of overall system installation from a process implementation standpoint.
- Strong understanding of Ultra-Pure Water and Industrial Wastewater Systems and Operation.
- Experience with UPW instrumentation (Flow, Pressure, Temperature, Conductivity, Control Valves) installation and application.
- Experience with previous UPW and IWN sites is preferred.
