About the Role
The Waitstaff position performs table service for the dining room and Bistro, serving food in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-service checklist to ensure readiness to open.
- Attend daily touchdown meetings prior to service to understand the menu items and preparation methods.
- May prepare and deliver room service for residents.
- Greet guests and introduce yourself.
- Provide guests with dinner rolls and ice water.
- Take and deliver food orders to table(s), ensuring accuracy.
- Fully understand the Point of Sales system and ticket calling procedure, ensuring accuracy.
- Properly process guest payments utilizing the point of sales system.
- Be attentive to guests wants and requests to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Clear all soiled items from the table and re-set the table.
- Perform post-service checklist to ensure readiness to open for the next day.
- Attend all required service staff meetings to address problems, concerns or plans.
- Read all literature and memos concerning changes or other necessary information.
Requirements
- Six months food service experience preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
- Must have a friendly and positive attitude.
- Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and the general public.
- Performing duties of this job requires prolonged standing and routine walking in and around the kitchen and dining area.
- Must be able to occasionally lift loads of 30 pounds and routinely lift 25 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to sit, talk, and hear is required.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
