About the Role
Beyer Blinder Belle is seeking a Data & Systems Strategist to serve as the central steward of the firm's business systems and data layer. This position will provide unified oversight and establish consistent standards for the platforms that support firmwide operations, focusing initially on Deltek VantagePoint and OpenAsset. The role operates at the intersection of various departments, translating needs into standards, training, and workflows, with an expected expansion to include project folder structure, network organization, and AI-enabled workflows.
Responsibilities
- Serve as administrator for Deltek Vantagepoint and OpenAsset, owning configuration, user access, workflow setup, and ongoing platform health.
- Configure and maintain the integration between Deltek Vantagepoint and OpenAsset, managing the synchronization of shared fields.
- Plan and execute data migrations, validation checks, and cleanup efforts during system changes, upgrades, and new platform rollouts.
- Extend data structure and governance to the firm's project folders and the Egnyte network file organization.
- Coordinate with the Design Computation & Technology group on data connections to project-facing platforms.
- Evaluate and pilot emerging tools and integrations where there is a clear operational benefit.
- Serve as the firm's authority on data standards, including defining naming conventions, required fields, and classification structures.
- Build and maintain the keyword taxonomy used to categorize, search, and reuse project information and image assets.
- Establish protocols for image usage rights, restricted content, and access permissions within the DAM.
- Define data ownership and stewardship responsibilities across departments.
- Work with leaders across departments to reconcile competing data definitions and arrive at sustainable standards.
- Ensure firm and project data is structured, consistent, and reliable enough to support trustworthy AI-assisted workflows.
- Expand and maintain the firm's Power BI reporting for business development activity, pipeline, pursuits, and win rates.
- Work with Business Development and firm leadership to define meaningful metrics and translate open-ended questions into reliable reports.
- Ensure that figures reconcile across systems and provide leadership with accurate, actionable information.
- Handle complex data queries, list generation, and ad hoc reporting requests.
- Automate recurring reports to ensure the quality of support data.
- Conduct systematic audits of project and client records across systems, assessing completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
- Lead remediation of legacy data, resolving duplicates, gaps, outdated entries, and inconsistent classification.
- Establish recurring checks, reports, and dashboards that keep data health visible and prevent regression.
- Partner with the Graphics team to validate image quality, tagging accuracy, and metadata completeness in the DAM.
- Trace recurring quality problems back to the workflows and revise them to prevent future errors.
- Develop and deliver training that helps staff use these systems confidently, tailored to how each user group functions.
- Maintain a practical internal reference of guides, standards documentation, and templates.
- Drive adoption of new platforms and workflows, monitor usage, and follow up directly where uptake lags.
- Serve as the firm's point of contact for data and systems questions, triaging requests and escalating issues.
- Coordinate with support staff on project asset ingestion, tagging, and file mapping.
- Convene regular working sessions with stakeholders to review data health, surface issues, and keep standards current.
