About the Role

SNY is seeking a skilled freelance Jib Operator with a passion for sports to join our Studio Operations team. This role works with our technical and news team in our production environment operating the Cammate Jib and handheld cameras. This role requires flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays, from our studio at 4 World Trade Center.

Responsibilities

• Create and offer visually interesting and varied subject shots in coordination with the Director.
• Work with technical and news staff to satisfy production needs for live, taped, and automated programming under supervision.
• Proficiently operate Cammate Jib and hand-held cameras as dictated by production demands.
• Assist in maintaining cameras and rigs in good working order.
• Train others as needed for back-up purposes.

Requirements

• Two (2) years of experience in live, multi-camera studio production preferred.
• Related camera operator experience required.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues with equipment and set up.
• Must be able to lift 25+lbs and set/strike studio gear.
• Serve as fill-in for all other Tech 1 positions with proper training.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Collaborative team player who works well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic studio environment.
