About the Role
The Investment Analyst position at Amherst College offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain broad exposure to institutional investing. The role involves supporting the investment team in analyzing and conducting due diligence on various asset classes and external investors, with the goal of generating superior investment results for the College's endowment.
Responsibilities
- Assist team members with investment analysis, including research on investment organizations, people, strategies, and markets.
- Prepare for and participate in due diligence meetings with investment managers.
- Contribute to written investment analyses.
- Support the operations of the endowment, including data and notes management.
- Conduct custom research and analytical projects on the endowment portfolio, managers, and asset classes.
- Collaborate with key constituents at Amherst, including staff, faculty, and student groups.
- Promote connectivity with students and the Investment Office.
- Travel to cover meetings with existing or prospective managers (~10% of the time).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from Amherst College required.
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to think critically.
- Passionate and mission-oriented, with a long-term focus on the College’s success.
- Demonstrated interest in endowments and/or investing.
- Strong orientation to detail and accuracy.
- Contributes to a respectful and welcoming workplace and supports efforts to maintain a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work environment.
- Successful completion of required reference and background checks.
- Acceptable criminal offender records information (CORI) check.
