About the Role
The Platform team develops technology that enables Spotify to learn quickly and scale easily, supporting global business growth. Enterprise AI builds and operates the internal AI platform layer, evolving AI tooling into reliable infrastructure for daily use. This role focuses on the connective tissue between AI models and internal systems, emphasizing security, governance, identity, integrations, and dependable AI infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate secure enterprise AI platform capabilities connecting AI models, agents, tools, and internal systems.
- Own major workstreams in enterprise AI infrastructure, including the Model Context Protocol (MCP) gateway and enterprise context capabilities.
- Build reliable backend services, APIs, and integrations for AI-powered experiences.
- Develop scalable approaches to AI governance, including identity-aware access, permissions, auditing, policy enforcement, and risk management for third-party AI tools.
- Design, build, test, and evaluate agentic systems and workflows for information access and task accomplishment.
- Take operational ownership of built services and components, balancing speed, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Partner with engineers and stakeholders to identify opportunities, make technical tradeoffs, and translate AI needs into scalable platform capabilities.
- Contribute to engineering practices, knowledge sharing, and AI fluency for operating enterprise AI infrastructure at scale.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building, testing, debugging, and operating reliable backend systems.
- Experience with backend languages such as Python, Go, or similar.
- Comfortable designing APIs and integrations across complex systems.
- Understanding of software architecture and how services, APIs, enterprise tools, and user-facing experiences fit together.
- Experience with identity and authentication concepts and technologies (e.g., OAuth, SAML, SCIM).
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure; familiarity with Google Cloud Platform is valuable.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, creating clarity, and independently making thoughtful technical tradeoffs.
- Cares about operational ownership and building dependable infrastructure.
- Enjoys experimentation, iteration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning in a collaborative engineering environment.
- Experience with enterprise SaaS or platform engineering, or with LLM integration patterns (tool use, function calling, agentic workflows, systems-level prompt engineering) is beneficial.
