About the Role
As a Platform Software Engineer on the brand-new Developer Acceleration team, you will help build infrastructure primitives, such as deployment, provisioning, and testing, into fast, self-serve paths for engineers. You will also own the ramps for building and deploying AI tooling internally, including frameworks and guardrails for safe AI agent development and operation. This role offers the opportunity to shape the team's direction from its inception.
Responsibilities
- Turn Braze's infrastructure primitives, like deployment, provisioning, and testing, into simple, self-serve paths for engineers.
- Build frameworks and guardrails for engineering teams to safely deploy internally-built AI agents, including governance for agent access and actions.
- Partner with Braze's engineering teams to define infrastructure-as-a-service primitives.
- Build monitoring and alerting to catch issues early.
- Help Braze meet its enterprise-grade SLAs.
- Provide opinionated abstractions, tooling, and guardrails for safe use of platform primitives.
- Continuously improve the observability and everyday ergonomics of platform tools.
- Help shape the team's on-call rotation as it is established.
Requirements
- This is a software and developer tooling role, not a systems administration role.
- 5+ years of experience building developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, or similar software.
- Comfortable with Kubernetes as a platform to build on and deploy to, not for daily administration.
- Experience building or exploring developer platform integrations such as GitHub Apps, internal CLIs, or MCP.
- Experience using AI tools in your own workflow with a clear point of view on their utility.
- Ability to think about systems, including interfaces, boundaries, edge cases, and failure modes.
- Ability to collaborate and document well across global, remote teams.
- A bias toward action and solving challenges in the face of change.

Salary/Compensations
- For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $104,000 and $176,040/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $116,000 and $195,600/year (including bonus or commission).
