About the Role
As a Production Racker, you'll prepare parts for wet paint and powder coating by placing them securely and correctly on racks before they enter the finishing process. This is a fast-paced position that plays an important role in keeping production moving, as your work directly impacts the flow of the entire production floor.
Responsibilities
- Rack and hang metal parts onto production racks in preparation for wet paint and powder coating.
- Select the appropriate racking method based on the part and finishing requirements.
- Position parts securely to prevent movement or damage during processing.
- Pay close attention to existing masking, plugs, and protected areas when handling parts.
- Avoid disturbing masking materials or removing plugs when positioning parts on racks.
- Handle parts carefully to prevent scratches, dents, drops, or other damage.
- Unrack completed parts after processing and move them to the appropriate next step.
- Maintain a steady pace to keep painters and powder coaters supplied with work.
- Visually inspect parts for obvious issues and communicate concerns to the Lead or Supervisor.
- Follow customer-specific work instructions and production requirements.
- Keep racks, tools, and the work area clean and organized.
- Follow all company safety procedures when handling parts, racks, and production equipment.

- Can work quickly while maintaining accuracy.

- Takes care when handling parts and understands the importance of preventing damage.

- Is comfortable standing, walking, lifting, and moving parts throughout the workday.
