About the Role

The Clinical Director serves as the director of all clinical aspects of an in-patient-based Substance Use Disorder treatment program. This role involves directing, supervising, and monitoring clinical staff in providing substance abuse treatment services and aftercare planning. The position also includes direct client care such as individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the program director and counselor(s) to determine the continuum of care for program participants.
• Directs program counseling staff in the day-to-day provision of family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services.
• Provides individual and group counseling and participates in case conferences.
• Reviews curricula and other program materials for clinical appropriateness and approves new acquisitions.
• Ensures counseling staff are adequately trained in curriculum delivery.
• Supervises the assessment of newly arrived patients and monitors clinician performance.
• Reviews and approves all clinical documentation, including treatment progress, treatment plans, and client coordination of care plans.
• Conducts regular quality assurance and quality improvement reviews for timely record-keeping.
• Plans, organizes, trains, develops, and manages the facility’s Recovery Support staff systems.
• Provides coaching and guidance support to RSS supervisors and team members.
• Ensures all RSS shifts have minimum coverage to meet organizational standards.
• Assesses and evaluates staff, developing methods to enhance strengths and minimize weaknesses.
• Conducts regular chart reviews to ensure timely record-keeping and compliance with governing agency regulations.
• Attends meetings with the program director to discuss program revision, improvement, and expansion.
• Participates in quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization review activities.
• Makes recommendations to the program director for plans of correction.
• Maintains established performance and conduct standards.
• Performs additional performance responsibilities as assigned and as necessary.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited college with a major in medicine, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in administration or the human services) or another related field.
• Licensed in NYS as an LMSW, or LCSW, or LMHC.
• Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role.

• $95,000-110,000
