About the Role
OpenGov is seeking a driven, analytically strong Senior Financial Analyst to join the GTM Finance & Strategy team. This role offers direct exposure to executive stakeholders and is ideal for an ambitious individual aiming to grow into a strategic finance leader. The position is based in our San Francisco HQ and reports to the Director, GTM Finance & Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure to track GTM performance across revenue, spend, and operational efficiency.
- Support quarterly and annual planning cycles, including bottoms-up revenue forecasts, headcount modeling, and budget development in partnership with GTM leadership.
- Own budget vs. actual analysis and provide business commentary for the assigned GTM segment, explaining performance drivers and recommending actions.
- Conduct analysis on key GTM financial drivers such as pipeline coverage, rep capacity/productivity, churn, and PS delivery efficiency, distilling findings into actionable narratives.
- Collaborate with RevOps, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure data integrity and alignment between operational metrics and financial results.
- Maintain critical reporting infrastructure, including the Snowflake ARR reporting model.
- Draft memos and slides to communicate complex findings clearly to diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
- Contribute to ad-hoc strategic projects as priorities evolve in a fast-paced environment.
- Deeply understand the business, including the operational and commercial context behind financial numbers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or a high-growth SaaS environment.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets modeling skills, with the ability to build models from scratch.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Intellectual curiosity and a bias toward structure, with a proactive approach to organizing complex problems.
- Willingness to ask questions, accept feedback, and iterate quickly.
- High ownership mentality, demonstrating follow-through, early issue flagging, and proactive task management.
- Actively uses AI tools to simplify and accelerate work, demonstrating curiosity and efficiency.
