About the Role

A family is seeking a kind, organized, and proactive Family Assistant/Caregiver to support their two daughters, ages 10 and 12. The family is looking for someone to become a trusted member of their household for the upcoming academic year and beyond. The role starts October 1st but is open for the right person.

Responsibilities

  • Picking the girls up from school
  • Driving/shuttling them to and from after-school activities
  • Helping with homework, school organization, and keeping track of assignments and commitments
  • Helping the girls stay organized and prepared for school and activities
  • Preparing healthy, family-friendly meals and snacks
  • Providing a warm, reliable, and supportive presence
  • Helping anticipate the girls' needs and keeping their schedules running smoothly
  • Coordinating with household staff, service providers, and contractors
  • Ordering groceries, school uniforms, household supplies, and other necessities
  • Helping organize and clear out household items that are no longer needed
  • Scheduling and coordinating children's appointments, including dental and medical appointments
  • Coordinating apartment repairs and maintenance when needed
  • Keeping track of household logistics and helping ensure that things get done efficiently
  • Anticipating needs and taking initiative rather than waiting to be asked

Requirements

  • Comfortable with a large older dog
  • A strong communicator and team player
  • Dependable, discreet, and professional
  • Comfortable preparing healthy meals for the family

Skills

  • Kind, warm, and genuinely enjoys working with children
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proactive and able to anticipate what needs to be done
  • Excellent at helping children with homework and school organization
  • Comfortable taking ownership of family assistant and administrative responsibilities

Location

  • Maine (seasonal)

Work Type

  • Full-time
  • Monday through Friday, approximately 11am-7pm
  • Flexibility for occasional late nights (e.g., 3pm-10pm)
  • Flexibility for schedule changes with limited notice

Salary/Compensations

  • $40-$45/hourly + Flexible DOE
  • Guaranteed hours
