About the Role
Political Canvassers are on the front lines of our campaign operations, having direct conversations with voters to inform, persuade, and mobilize support for candidates and initiatives. As a Political Canvasser, you'll play a critical role in the democratic process through face-to-face voter engagement. Responsibilities typically include delivering campaign messages, collecting petition signatures, and building lasting support for candidates and issues in your community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person voter outreach through door-to-door canvassing
- Deliver persuasive, accurate messaging about candidates and ballot initiatives
- Record daily data and submit reports to program leadership
- Consistently meet or exceed outreach and engagement goals
- Represent North Shore Strategies with professionalism and integrity
- Attend trainings and team meetings to stay aligned on strategy and talking points
- Build positive relationships with voters to strengthen community trust
Requirements
- Must be a registered voter in your state of residence
- Able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week when a program is active
- Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort engaging strangers
- Reliable, goal-oriented, able to work independently and in a team
- Willing and able to canvass outdoors for extended periods in varying weather
- Strong belief in progressive values and civic participation
- Capable of meeting deadlines and performance targets
