About the Role
Oversee and control day-to-day operations of all dining services operations at the community, upholding the company's mission to brighten and enrich lives with HEART: Hospitality, Excellence, Appreciation, Respect & Teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Company Dining Policy and Procedures.
- Manage purchasing of all dining food and non-food items, achieving 95% DSSI ordering compliance.
- Balance and maintain budgets for raw food and supplies.
- Utilize company standard recipes for food production.
- Ensure food is served at the proper temperature and portion size, adhering to food safety and palatability standards.
- Offer residents their prescribed diets when applicable.
- Drive resident satisfaction by offering choice, dignity, and independence in dining.
- Develop and implement operating and cleaning instructions/procedures for the department.
- Conduct pre-meal dining stand-up meetings with service staff.
- Adhere to all company and health department regulations, acting as the community’s dietary representative for inspections.
- Ensure dining areas are clean and safely operating, completing monthly sanitation audits.
- Interview, manage, train, hire, discipline, and terminate dining staff.
- Oversee the scheduling of food service personnel to maintain labor budget compliance.
Requirements
- 3+ years of previous Food Service experience required.
- Management experience is a plus.
- Possess Serv Safe and/or other required local, county, or state certifications.
- Ability to switch tasks quickly and often.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
- Ability to give clear direction in a respectful demeanor.
- Take pride in the quality and presentation of food, and the cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
- Possess a generous amount of patience.
- Ability to effectively communicate with many different types of personalities.
- Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination unless exempt due to medical, religious, or personal beliefs.
