About the Role

The Diabetes Sales Associate is responsible for growing sales with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) assigned to the territory by developing customer relationships, acting as an ambassador for Abbott’s FreeStyle products, and strengthening overall market presence. This role is instrumental in delivering sales and profitability objectives, as well as expanding brand reputation. This is a field-sales opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting or exceeding sales quotas/objectives for FreeStyle Libre portfolio.
  • Leveraging company-generated targets to prospect for new business and close for new sales in an expanded marketplace.
  • Collaborating with various channel partners within HCP, Managed Care, Retail, and Point of Care organizations.
  • Establishing strong relationships with a broad base of internal and external healthcare constituents (e.g., physicians, nurses, pharmacists, CDEs, etc.).
  • Acting with a sense of purpose and urgency, engaging in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Focusing on the needs and interests of others, while motivating change.
  • Keeping current on internal and competitive products and positioning by utilizing a variety of resources.
  • Developing proficiency in the Company’s sales model to ensure product adoption and utilization along the buying cycle.
  • Understanding and conveying information professionally and accurately.
  • Developing business plans based on current trends and goals that include short and long-term actions.
  • Keeping current in market trends and competitor’s strategy.
  • Delivering sales results as assigned in the primary care market, focusing on driving broad awareness and education of CGM and the FreeStyle Libre brand.
  • Delivering sales results within the endocrinology market as assigned.
  • Positioning products and services using appropriate resources with confident, convincing logic.
  • Tailoring sales approach to meet customer needs by utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Handling objections and exploring perspectives and tactfully addressing them.
  • Developing and implementing plans (e.g., territory, account and call) that include goals, action plans, time frames and resources.
  • Conveying information clearly and concisely.
  • Responding to others and listening carefully to understand the message.
  • Regularly tracking and reporting progress against plan.
  • Redirecting efforts as necessary.
  • Completing all administrative tasks accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Documenting daily, weekly and monthly activities utilizing call reporting / tracking system.
  • Maintaining accountability for all samples in accordance with Division guidelines.
  • Working within quality guidelines established for compliance.
  • Implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years previous sales experience with a successful sales track record from previous positions.
  • Excellent communication skills, high energy, integrity and ambition to succeed.
  • Sales experience in the healthcare industry (Preferred).
  • B2B sales experience (Preferred).
