About the Role
Responsible for leading, developing, and training maintenance activities for RWCS non-incineration facilities, including building and plant/transfer equipment. Oversees all maintenance personnel and contractors, ensuring compliance with established programs and procedures. Collaborates with operations management to identify cost reduction opportunities, manage equipment care, and oversee training, housekeeping, and record keeping. Manages installation and maintenance functions, including preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance, while adhering to safe workplace procedures and best practices like LOTO and electrical/mechanical safety.
Responsibilities
- Leading and developing a team of maintenance technicians in on-time and on-budget maintenance activities, including preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
- Managing hiring, training, and development of direct reports.
- Controlling wage budgets for all maintenance team members.
- Collaborating with operations leadership on managing overall cost budgets for parts and maintenance repair costs.
- Tracking equipment history and driving improvement utilizing the SAP PM system.
- Executing PM practices and working with maintenance technicians to plan and schedule routine outages for inspection and routine maintenance.
- Reviewing equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes, and developing corrective action plans.
- Managing the execution of small-scale capital improvements, partnering with local operations, regulatory, and compliance teams.
- Conducting predictive analysis of process systems and equipment.
- Identifying equipment malfunctions, generating work orders, determining proper repair procedures, and assigning appropriate personnel.
- Documenting results based on schedule and priority in SAP PM.
- Supporting WMHS's commitment to safety and all established policies and procedures.
- Troubleshooting, replacing components, and wiring electric motors using 3-phase theory and wiring techniques.
- Reading electrical schematics for control systems and performing wire tracing.
- Purchasing components and managing the installation of simple conduit runs, including mounting control boxes or disconnects.
- Troubleshooting and repairing general air pneumatics, including air compressor operation, regulator replacement, solenoid valve replacement, and pneumatic pump repair.
- Maintaining hydraulic systems, including cylinder seal repair, cylinder replacement, fluid maintenance, hydraulic pump replacement, and valve stack repair.
- Managing the proper use of power tools and overseeing welding activities for carbon steel, stainless steel, or higher alloys.
- Installing PVC piping, threaded steel pipe, and soldered copper.
- Performing other assigned duties and responsibilities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
- 5 years of relevant management and technical experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage groups of remote team members
- Leadership experience in a multi-site setting
- Ability to complete hands-on preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance
- Valid Driver's License
- Boiler, Welding, or Electrical Certification
- Must have or be willing to obtain a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if required for air travel or federal property access.

- $77,000 - $95,000 DOE
