About the Role
As the senior product manager for enterprise and deployments, you own the trust and access layer of the dbt platform, covering identity, authentication, authorization, and deployment locations. This role involves foundational infrastructure work with a direct impact on revenue, unlocking new regions, deployment models, and customer segments. You will collaborate with engineering, security, infrastructure, compliance, and field teams, leveraging the combined strengths of dbt Labs and Fivetran.
Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap for identity, access, and deployment across the dbt platform.
- Make enterprise security a competitive advantage, moving beyond basic requirements like SSO, SCIM, RBAC, and PrivateLink.
- Lead the migration from single-tenant to multi-tenant deployment models for enterprise customers.
- Determine deployment locations and necessary prerequisites for new geographies and clouds.
- Optimize the user sign-up, login, and account discovery processes.
- Empower administrators with self-serve tools for managing users, groups, invites, and permissions at scale.
- Act as the product representative in enterprise security reviews, translating feedback into product strategy.
- Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to implement necessary telemetry and observability for operational confidence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, with significant time spent on identity, access management, security, or infrastructure products.
- Direct experience with authentication and authorization technologies (SSO, SCIM, OAuth/OIDC, RBAC, identity providers).
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS deployment models, including tenancy, isolation, regional expansion, and migration strategies.
- A strong technical foundation to collaborate effectively with engineering and participate in design reviews.
- Comfort engaging with enterprise customers, particularly their security and platform teams, and translating feedback into product work.
- Excellent written communication skills for creating clear specifications and explaining technical decisions.
- Ability to operate effectively in a distributed team environment asynchronously.
