About the Role

AHRC NYC is seeking Full and Part-Time Day Program Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for multiple Bronx Day Programs. This role offers the reward of helping others, building relationships, and improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist participants in learning and developing social skills, daily living skills, and habits.
  • Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities.
  • Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Driver's license for more than one year in good standing preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver and ability to stay current and interpret related information.
  • Understanding of Person-Centered Planning.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with participants, families, staff, and community agencies.
