About the Role
Major League Baseball is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Retail Marketing to support key and emerging MLB retailers, aiming to grow the MLB Consumer Products business through day-to-day engagement and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Maintain regular contact with key accounts to identify sales, marketing, and event opportunities.
- Develop relationships with new retail accounts.
- Create marketing and advertising strategies, plans, and objectives to boost sales with existing retail accounts.
- Oversee inventory and buying plans for e-commerce and events in collaboration with retail partners, mitigating risks for event and new product launch inventory.
- Coordinate, communicate, and analyze retailer performance, including recaps, presentations, budgets, and invoices.
- Analyze sales and inventory data to inform retail strategies.
- Assist in the planning and occasional onsite execution of MLB jewel events at retail venues.
- Develop strategic activations and in-store experiences using brand knowledge and market trends to drive traffic and brand awareness.
- Conduct competitive market analysis by shopping other retail stores.
- Provide support for departmental projects and initiatives.
- Offer administrative and ad hoc support as needed.
- Maintain flexibility for night/weekend availability, travel, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of retail experience, including retail planning, preferably in an omni-channel capacity.
- Understanding of the retail landscape and its evolution.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.
- Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Preference for retail/wholesale math knowledge.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Team player mindset.
- Familiarity with baseball and Major League Baseball Clubs.
- Familiarity with the sports licensed industry and supplier base.
