About the Role
The Operations Support Technician ensures the accurate and efficient flow of goods into the facility while supporting production and fabrication needs. This role focuses on receiving, including unloading and verifying inbound shipments, labeling and stocking materials, and maintaining accurate records in the ERP system. The position also assists with packaging and production operations and may perform preventive maintenance on fulfillment and packaging equipment. Opportunities include forklift operation and cross-training in other departments.
Responsibilities
- Load/unload trucks using forklift and/or pallet jack
- Unpack and sort deliveries
- Reconcile delivered items against Packing Lists
- Verify items and quantities against Purchase Order
- Input information into ERP system
- Assist in sampling materials and sample products
- Label all items with Harris Seeds product labels
- Assist with stocking and locating products
- Assist in delivering all incoming non-inventoried items to correct individual or department
- Move products to warehouse location via hand truck and or forklift
- Assist in physical inventory
- Printing, labeling, filling, or sealing packages, either by hand or using equipment
- Monitor product and packaging for quality control
- Manage and organize materials, ensuring they are accurately received, stored, and available for production
- Keep open lines of communication with co-workers and managers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical or trade training a plus
- 2-3 years of experience in warehouse, production, or related field preferred
- Forklift certification preferred
- Ability to understand and perform simple formulas and algebra
- Computer and data entry skills required
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Proficiency with ERP or inventory management software a plus
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with preventative maintenance tasks preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in receiving and data entry
- Ability to lift 40-50 pounds unaided
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day)
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to learn inventory management software
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
