About the Role
The Banquet Houseperson is a key player in the smooth operation of all private parties and events, supporting the banquet team in setting up and breaking down the event space. This role is best suited to someone comfortable lifting and moving tables, chairs, and boxes, who brings positivity to the team.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a neat and professional appearance.
- Projects a positive attitude towards guests and staff.
- Sets up and breaks down all event space according to Banquet Events Order (BEO).
- Maintains cleanliness standards for equipment and meeting rooms.
- Sets up meeting spaces according to management standards and floor plans.
- Adjusts lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed for each room before an event.
- Maintains high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the hotel & conference center.
- Ensures cleanliness and organization of all banquet rooms, hallways, storage, and service areas.
- Ensures proper storage and maintenance of all MDR & banquet service equipment.
- Routinely inventories and cares for supplies such as linens, chairs, tables, glassware, dishes, and decorations.
- Reports maintenance issues to management.
- Assists event vendors when needed.
- Assembles dance floors, stages, and podiums.
- Assumes special projects assigned by management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be on feet frequently for up to 10-12 hours a day.
- Must be able to walk frequently.
- Must have excellent physical fitness.
- Must be able to work outdoors and indoors.
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
- Must be able to move fast and multi-task in a fast-paced, high stress/pressure environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective communication.
- Requires three to six months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Must be able to meet the demands of the work schedule to be at work and on time.
- May require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
- Schedules may vary based on business need.
