Responsibilities
- Assist and, where appropriate, lead on international arbitrations.
- Manage work to support optimal utilisation, delegate and provide feedback to juniors, and communicate progress on tasks.
- Support partners and senior associates in performing advocacy at hearings while developing own advocacy skills.
- Manage, develop, and strengthen client relationships by anticipating needs and providing prompt responses.
- Support the firm and others by establishing effective relationships, upholding values, contributing to initiatives, mentoring juniors, and raising the firm's profile.
- Comply with risk requirements, firm policies, and relevant legislation, and contribute to billing, engagement, and client acceptance processes.
Requirements
- 6+ years of post-qualification experience (exceptional candidates with 5+ years will be considered).
- Strong experience in international arbitration matters.
- Experience of English High Court (TCC), expert determinations, and adjudications is desirable.
- Strong subject matter expertise in construction & infrastructure disputes, including experience of leading factual and expert evidence on delay, quantum, and technical issues.
- Strong legal skills, including drafting, analysis, and case management skills.
- Good team player.
- Good understanding of law firm profitability and key drivers for financial efficiency.
- Ability to help manage costs and budgets.
