About the Role
This Senior Accountant role will be supporting Cigna Canada and all its subsidiaries’ companies in Canada, focusing on day-to-day accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Preparing month-end journal entries.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Preparing lead schedules, including fixed asset continuity schedule and accrued expense schedule.
- Maintaining tax continuity schedule.
- Support tax reconciliations, including income tax, retail sales tax, harmonized sales taxes and insurance premium tax.
- Supporting management reporting and regulatory filings.
- Conducting variance analysis and commentary.
- Support the external year-end audit process.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by manager.
Requirements
- 3+ years of full cycle accounting experience.
- CPA designation or active enrollment in the CPA program.
- Experience with OSFI reporting is considered an asset.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication across all organizational levels.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
