About the Role

As a High School Inclusive Learning Teacher, you will work directly with students, co-teaching and delivering content. You will collaborate with your grade team and instructional leadership to develop curriculum, provide high-quality instruction, manage student progress and IEPs, foster a positive classroom culture, and engage in continuous improvement. The goal is to prepare students academically, build character, and ensure emotional well-being for success in academics and leadership.

Responsibilities

Deliver content and instruction to all students in collaboration with a co-teacher.
Collaborate with grade team and instructional leadership to internalize and develop curriculum.
Provide high-quality instruction.
Track and measure student progress, including managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Create a positive classroom and school culture.
Engage in reflection and continuous improvement.
Demonstrate successful partnership with classroom co-teacher and utilize multiple co-teaching models.
Embody and model core values for students.
Set ambitious goals based on backwards planning, demonstrating locus of control, and aligned with an overall vision for student success.
Demonstrate deep knowledge of content and effective pedagogy through clear, objective-driven instruction and meaningful student engagement.
Set clear expectations and institute routines to establish and maintain a purposeful, supportive, and fun learning environment.
Build a classroom community where restorative practices are actively modeled and used.
Demonstrate a Team First mindset through proactive contributions.
Advance practice through reflection, development opportunities, and participation in the professional community.
Actively engage families and community members.

Requirements

Minimum of three years of experience in relevant educational positions.
Hold or be in the process of obtaining a New York State teaching certification for teaching Students With Disabilities.
Hold yourself to high professional and ethical standards.
Enjoy and/or have experience working with diverse populations of students and communities.
Believe that every student can and will learn when provided with a quality education.
Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of traditionally at-risk students.
Willingness to be flexible in your role and adapt to school and student needs.
Commitment to continuous improvement and learning through professional development.

Skills

Ability to speak, write, and understand Spanish fluently (preferred).
