About the Role

The Process Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of manufacturing processes and engineering functions under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

• Write manufacturing processes and enter them in Epicor software.
• Collaborate with the engineering group on machine processes and tooling.
• Interface with department supervisors and machinists.
• Utilize customer-supplied CAD files to process manufacturing plans.
• Create work holding and fixturing layouts using CAD.
• Interface with CNC programmers.
• Notify the Tool Crib of upcoming jobs.
• Develop a queuing system for kits ready for setup.
• Verify tooling availability for jobs and ensure backups are available.
• Coordinate all projects as they progress through the shop.
• Monitor job profitability during production.
• Expedite materials and components to ensure jobs stay on schedule.
• Complete routing for customer jobs.
• Develop tooling and fixturing concepts for new work with the engineering group and manufacturing.
• Update all processes during and after production.
• Ensure processes are followed and incorporate time-saving methods.
• Investigate and provide disposition on discrepant/quality issues for assigned jobs.
• Review assigned jobs with the department manager at hand-off and when ready for the floor.
• Promote and support the requirements and principles of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.

Requirements

• Functions as a member of a customer-driven quality team.
• Holds oneself accountable for meeting project outcome commitments.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure, adhere to deadlines, and be flexible.
• Familiarity with all aspects of manufacturing including material specifications, turning, milling, heat treat, welding, plating, and painting.
• Attention to detail.
• Customer focus.
• Analytical and reasoning skills.
• Proficiency with 3-D modeling software packages, specifically Autodesk Inventor.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows.
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
• This position is restricted to US Citizens, Permanent Residents or Green Card Holders.
