About the Role
The Inspector NDE II (RT) performs inspections with supervision and mentoring, interpreting and evaluating results based on applicable codes, standards, and specifications. This role is focused on ensuring the highest quality products are delivered to customers by inspecting components, assemblies, and paperwork for compliance and preventing non-conforming product from shipping. This is a second shift position.
Responsibilities
- Performs inspections with supervision and mentoring.
- Sets up and calibrates equipment.
- Interprets and evaluates results as per applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Organizes and reports inspection results.
- Provides on-the-job training and guidance to trainees and Level I personnel.
- Inspects components, assemblies, and related paperwork to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Ensures that no non-conforming or rejected product gets shipped to the end user or customer.
- Utilizes drawings and specifications to develop a plan for basic manual inspections.
- Evaluates parts to ensure they meet specified requirements per inspection plans.
- Completes the inspection step on the router to properly indicate pass/fail and note the time for traceability.
- Performs dimensional inspection on precision machined products and assemblies unassisted.
- Follows instructions, both oral and written.
- Reads all blueprints and work instructions.
- Provides instruction and guidance to assisting employees and participates in training of welders and other employees of lesser classification.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Supervisor.
- Maintains a clean work area with no clutter.
- Practices safety at all times while at work.
- Follows safety policies and procedures and speaks up when others are non-compliant.
- Wears all required safety equipment for the area of work.

Requirements
- Must be willing to work overtime as required.
- Local travel may be required.
- Ability and willingness to abide by set policies and/or safety programs established by GHM, our clients, and/or regulatory agencies.
- Experience reading technical drawings desired.
- Have basic knowledge of GD&T principal and working knowledge of a variety of machining processes.
- While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is primarily required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend.
- Required to speak and communicate clearly with others.
- Corrected vision to 20/20 or adequate and ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is required to read, write, analyze data and reports, exercise judgment, develop plans, procedures and goals, present information to others and work under pressure.
- While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is also exposed to high level of manufacturing and equipment noise.
- Duties are performed indoors in a manufacturing environment with temperature changes.
- Exposure to hazardous materials, fumes or airborne particles and moving mechanical parts with vibration.
