About the Role

AIM Services is seeking an Assistant Residential Manager to support Residential Managers in daily operations. This role involves supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), implementing programs, documentation, and other assigned duties within residential homes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift routines and ensure staff job performance and quality services.
• Provide and document shift supervision, including evaluations, training, discipline, and commendations.
• Implement and document individual total care plans, promoting independence and self-worth.
• Provide, encourage, assist, and supervise individuals in personal care and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Perform and assist with household functions such as meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping, and infection control.
• Comply with all state, federal, and agency policies, procedures, and regulations as indicated by OPWDD.
• Perform medical/health-related functions adhering to AMAP Policy.
• Coordinate, schedule, transport, attend, document, and follow up on individual outings and appointments.
• Maintain all resident records, ensuring filing, accuracy, compliance, and updating.
• Operate agency vehicles in compliance with policies, procedures, and traffic laws, and document vehicle maintenance.
• Manage individual funds and petty cash.
• Ensure appropriate use of individual/agency property and equipment.
• Assist in the coordination, participation, communication, and documentation of individual meetings.
• Provide and ensure a safe work/living environment, complying with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Attend necessary trainings, meetings, and medical updates.
• Participate as an active member of the individual's team.
• Demonstrate flexibility in schedule to ensure individual care and program implementation.
• Work at other programs as needed to meet individual needs.
• Perform any other duties requested by supervisor.
• Lift/transfer individuals/items of various weights (minimum 50 lbs).
• Perform bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Utilize SCIP techniques.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Utilize reading and math skills for job duties.
• Demonstrate interest and ability to facilitate personal outcomes for individuals receiving services.
• Handle exposure to household and other cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Adhere to Agency attendance policy.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED.
• 1 year of experience working in the field of Developmental Disabilities.
• Managerial/supervisory experience (appropriate education, background, and experience considered).
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• AMAP Certification.
• SCIP Certification.
• Program specific training.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License acceptable to Agency Insurance Company (Current Valid Insurance card if using own vehicle).
• Ability to work independently.
