About the Role
Shared Practices Group is a fast-growing company specializing in full arch dentistry. We are seeking a motivated Surgical Dental Assistant with 1-2 years of experience to support our mission of increasing patient access to life-changing dental procedures. This role is key in organizing the back office, developing workflows, and ensuring optimal patient care.
Responsibilities
- Review patient medical histories, obtain vital signs, and document medications, medical conditions, and alerts.
- Set up and break down operatory equipment and instruments, and chart accurately.
- Assist the doctor chairside during surgical and dental procedures.
- Capture high-quality CBCT and panoramic images.
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, and pre- and post-operative instructions.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain treatment rooms according to infection control protocols.
- Monitor and manage clinical inventory, ensuring supplies are stocked and organized.
- Provide support to front desk staff.
- Anticipate clinical needs and follow chairside assisting protocols.
- Oversee basic maintenance and troubleshooting of office equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Positive, team-oriented mindset.
- Strong work ethic.
- Dedication to achieving practice goals.
- Ability to contribute from day one.
- Proficiency in capturing CBCT and panoramic x-ray images.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid X-Ray certification.
- Sedation monitoring certification.
- A minimum of 1-2 years experience in an oral surgery setting is strongly preferred.
- Experience with wax try-ins and replacing locator rings.
- Familiarity with Open Dental software is a plus.
