About the Role

The Credit Controller at Starr is responsible for chasing, monitoring, and reporting on overdue premiums owed to Starr. This role involves liaising with underwriting teams to ensure maximum efforts are taken to receive settlement, utilizing internal and external systems to ensure broker terms are met, reducing aged debt, and maximizing cash flow by adhering to company procedures. Weekly reports will be prepared for senior management, and relationships will be built with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Chase, monitor, and report upon overdue premiums to the Head of Credit Control.
  • Utilize X-changing systems and reporting to ensure Brokers settle in accordance with the rest of the Lloyds Market.
  • Monitor Aged Debt and react to changes and trends both internally and externally.
  • Build and retain relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with and investigate directly received cash in bank accounts to establish policy allocation.
  • Investigate initial booking of outstanding premium, ensuring correct terms and settlement data are entered for accurate reporting and chasing for settlement.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties compatible with experience and competencies as required.

Requirements

  • Intermediate Excel capability (v-lookups, pivot tables, ability to interpret large data sets).
  • London Market credit control experience.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Well organised, with the ability to work well in a team as well as individually.
