Responsibilities
- Clean rooms according to Sandman Hotels standards
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products, and their correct handling procedures
- Respond to guest and staff inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and courteously
- Ensure all lost property items left in guest rooms are recorded and handed in
- Promptly report all maintenance and safety hazards to minimize risk
- Take personal responsibility for equipment, ensuring correct operation and security
- Report any unusual or suspicious persons/activities to the manager
- Report any maintenance issues, including burned-out light bulbs
- Check under beds, drawers, and closets for left-behind articles or trash
- Clean sinks and fixtures, and restock all terry, soap, glasses, comment cards, coffee, and other amenities
- Clean coffee pots when needed and ensure they are plugged in
- Arrange furniture after guest use
- Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests
- Perform Laundry tasks when necessary, including collecting, sorting, and transporting laundry
- Remove laundry from dryers and fold immediately to prevent wrinkling
- Stock the linen supply room with clean linens for the next day
- Perform laundry tasks including washing, drying, and folding bed linens, blankets, duvets/comforters, towels, face cloths, and restaurant table linens
- Perform small mending repairs as needed
- Perform Houseperson duties if required
Requirements
- No education or experience required; training will be provided one-on-one
- Ability to follow instruction
- Good communication skills are an asset
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is an asset
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Professional appearance and manners
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
